FAT CATS & POOR DOGS
Royal Wade KImes

Bill O’Riley asked the question, does the Government owe
the American people anything. His guest said, no. Bill
thought it did. Had you asked me, two or three years ago,
I would have said no, too. That was before the fat cats in
D.C. took our economy down. The Barney Franks, Chris
Dodds, and other pocket-padding politicians caused this
fiasco. They walk away fat and laughing, while middle
America and the poor struggle. It seems there’s no one to
punish them for the travesty they have caused. They drink
fine wine, while families fight to keep their homes, their
cars, their phones, their electricity, the gas to heat their
homes and put fuel in their automobiles.

Not only did Uncle Sam and his gang take everything material, they’re snatching at the
dignity and pride of the people. The Politicians aren’t the ones standing in front of their
homes watching a foreclosed sign being driven in the ground. They’re not wondering if
they’ll be able to eat or clothe their children. They’re not watching the car they just about
had paid off being driven away, leaving them with no way to go to work, even if they had a
job. That said…does the Government owe the American people? Absolutely! Yes!

Shawn Hannity said on Monday, July 19th that the Fed would have done more for the
people had they given each household a hundred thousand dollars. He’s right. Instead of
giving the money to the banks and unions, which is more fat cats, they could have given
it to the people, the American people, and citizens with citizenship. They would have
taken the money and bought a new car, maybe paid off a mortgage , buy furniture,
clothes, appliances, toys, land, start a business, it’s an endless list. Get the picture?

If the American people had been given the money, they would have pulled this country out
of recession in six months, and without any outside help from, China or anyone else.
When the American people are buying, someone has to make the things to buy. That
means factories have to fire up the boilers. They start hiring and running overtime.
Leather, plastic, steel, cloth and rubber make up autos. Homes, the same; appliances,
the same; plus lumber has to be bought and shipped in. Contractors go to work, banks
have loans paid off, and people borrowing for new businesses. Why, because they can
breathe and feel good about the future of the economy. It comes down to this. You don’t
water the leaves of a plant to make it grow. You water the roots. The fat cats are the
leaves, they make their money off of what Middle America and the poor do. If Middle
America doesn’t get water, we wither up and die, and the economy goes with us. Despite
it all, the American people hold the power. Give the American people the chance, the
tools, and we can bring this country out of any recession. But keep feeding the fat cats
and we will be looking at a bleak, long, drawn out, hard time recession, affecting no one
but Middle America.

So, I say, to the Government, run an experiment. Give the American people the cash and
see what happens. It’s for sure your first experiment didn’t work. What do you have to
lose? If you’re going to throw money around like there’s no end to it, throw it where it
might do some good. Give it to good solid, hard working Middle America, not the crooked
bankers, politicians, and speculators who flounder around in quicksand. America doesn’t
need or want a global economy. We can do it ourselves, we have before and we can
again. Millions of Americans are standing in the shadows, willing and able to turn this
recession around. How game are you, Uncle Sam? Or are you just playing games?
